The Duna-Ipoly National Park Directorate has become the new registered forest manager of Strázsa-hill. Therefore we can finally start the work for the preservation of the protected area’s natural values.
On 29 January 2009 the Forestry Directorate of the Budapest and Pest County Agricultural Bureau registered DINPD as the new forest manager of the 98 A-E, NY, TI 1-2 forest area of Nagykőrös or in its more common name, the Strázsa-hill locally protected area.
With this step, the road has opened up to the treatment of the area, as it had been undertaken in the project proposal. This work had been previously blocked by the messy property rights situation and the lack of a registered forest manager. In parallel, the National Park Directorate initiated the purchase of the area (Nagykőrös 0821/1 property) for state ownership.
