Large number of photos were submitted to the Photo Contest invited in the topic of the steppe oak woods near to Nagykőrös by WWF, Nagykőrös Municipality and the Duna-Ipoly National Park Directorate. Finally the winners were selected and the best photos can be seen on the website.
The photos could be taken in any of the natural woods still survived in the territory of the Great Hungarian Plain. The applications submitted covered many various topics: insects, birds, the beauty of nature and the relationship between man and forest were all recorded on the photos.
The jury was in a difficult situation while selecting the winners since many good photos were received. The jury consisted of Róbert Kiss, amateur nature photographer, László Illés, art director of Explorer Magazine, László Gálhidy, biologist, the forest project manager of WWF and György Verő, representing the Duna-Ipoly National Park Directorate, the LIFE project manager of steppe oaks of Nagykőrös.
During the evaluation and selection process many aspects were taken into account and only after a lenghty consideration could the winners be selected and the 3 best photos chosen from all those splendid photographs. Both the winners and a selection of the best photographs can be seen on the website of WWF and here: Képgaléria
